We exist because the fundamental right to health remains unfulfilled for millions of people around the world, particularly for those who are facing systemic barriers to health equity.
Too many communities face limited access to quality, inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable healthcare. This is not due to a lack of need, but the result of decades of insufficient investment in public health systems, inequitable and fragile healthcare structures, and political inaction or neglect.
Facilities are often inadequate, infrastructure is failing, human resources are overstretched or absent, and people are too often disempowered or unsupported in claiming their rights. Environmental crises, conflict, displacement, and the social determinants of health further deepen this injustice — fueling cycles of preventable suffering and death, economic hardship, and the erosion of human dignity.
The consequences are not abstract: increased disease burdens, rising epidemic risks, brain drain of healthcare professionals, and a persistent inability to tackle interlinked social and health challenges.
We exist because this situation is not acceptable — and because ignoring it means accepting a global system that allows health inequalities to persist and deepen.

"From Community-based care to hospital support, from infectious diseases to disability inclusion – our diversity, together with our partners, is our strength in contributing to comprehensive and inclusive health system strengthening strategies."
- Felipe Sere, Health Impact Coalition Coordinator
